Bullet Mold

Bullet Mold

Bullet Mold –this little appliance would have been found in any colonial Rocklander’s kit bag. It was filled with molten lead, allowed to cool, and then the lead ball was tapped out of the mold and finished by “nipping” of the tail of lead that was the last drip of liquid metal in the pour hole of the mold. The tail was usually saved and added to the next batch.

This mold belongs to K. Lamberton of Suffern , NY .
